A message for recruiters:
No thanks. At Predatar we’re masters of our own destiny!
Do you love solving problems with your technical superpowers? Does the idea of getting hands-on with new tech float your boat? Are you obsessed with the small details and take pride in things like service stability and near-perfect uptime?
Yes? Well, the team at Predatar is on the hunt for someone just like you.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone to own and evolve the technology that Predatar is built on. That includes the systems our teams use every day to do the awesome things they do – and the technology that powers our product.
There will be some Microsoft 365 troubleshooting, fixing VPN issues and sorting the occasional printer-related meltdown – but that’s really not the main event here. The core of this role is about platform reliability, infrastructure ownership, and technical depth.
You’ll be responsible for the systems that the Predatar platform is built on. Organisations around the world rely on Predatar’s Recovery Assurance platform to help them achieve operational resilience in the face of threats like cybercrime, natural disasters, and IT outages. You’ll keep them optimised and secure – and you won’t be shy when it comes to recommending ways to improve them.
Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll work hands-on with enterprise-grade infrastructure, modern DevOps tooling and cloud platforms. You’ll help ensure our systems are secure, resilient, well-automated and ready to scale as the business grows.
We’re big fans of Artificial Intelligence here at Predatar. It’s not only underpins many of the capabilities inside our product, but every team in our business is using AI tools to go faster and further too. The ideal candidate will be proficient in prompting to get the most out of AI.
If you’re the kind of engineer who likes to step outside the boundaries of your job description, that’s great — you’ll feel at home with us. Working at Predatar is a team sport and there are plenty of ways you can apply your technical skills to help the wider team and get a taste of how SaaS products are designed, built, tested, deployed and improved. You can get hands-on with R&D, customer support, QA, and more.
Speaking of ‘feeling at home’ – you can work from home – or anywhere in the UK, but you will need to visit Predatar HQ in Oxfordshire from time-to-time for occasional face-to-face meetings and hand-on maintenance of hardware in our on-site lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Owning and running Predatar’s core infrastructure and platform environments
- Designing, running and improving backup, restore and disaster recovery processes
- Managing and maintaining Windows Server and Linux environments
- Working with virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V and/or VMware
- Supporting and evolving containerised platforms, including Kubernetes
- Automating infrastructure using tools like Ansible and an Infrastructure-as-Code mindset
- Using Git and GitHub as part of day-to-day workflows (branches, PRs, reviews, automation)
- Operating and supporting relational databases from an infrastructure perspective
- Working across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or IBM Cloud
- Troubleshooting complex issues in high-availability SaaS environments
- Making sure security best practices are baked into everything you run and automate
- Providing light-touch internal IT support when needed (Microsoft 365, VPNs, endpoints, networks)
Your Experience & Skills
You’ll have most of these (maybe even all of them):
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux (e.g. Red Hat, Ubuntu)
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation (Hyper-V and/or VMware)
- Experience designing and running backup, restore and disaster recovery solutions
- Familiarity with containerised platforms, particularly Kubernetes

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or IBM Cloud
- A good grasp of networking fundamentals and firewalls (routing, VPNs, security rules)
- Confidence troubleshooting complex systems in production environments
- A security-conscious approach to operating and automating systems
- Most importantly: you’re a team player, curious by nature, and a natural problem-solver
What Predatar Can Offer You
- Regular virtual and in-person team meetups
- A chance to be part of a growing, innovative UK tech company
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Performance-based bonus scheme
- Opportunities for personal and professional development
- Supportive, collaborative team culture
- A remote-first role with flexibility and trust
